7th Dragon 2020-II is a sequel to 7th Dragon 2020.
Plot[]
A year after the first dragon war, Tokyo is slowly but surely recovering. The Murakumo Headquarters and some evacuation settlements were relocated from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building to the Parliamentary Diet Building.
Ayafumi Kirino, now the current acting chairperson of Murakumo, has been working hard to restore telecommunications in the country, centering it on the Tokyo Sky Tower. A test broadcast was scheduled to be performed the following day, but a sudden monster outbreak threatened the event. Murakumo's legendary Unit 13 was called on to assist.
However, this minor incident was but a prelude to something bigger...
On the day of the test broadcast, The supposedly extinct Dragons emerged once more under the influence of the True Dragon Formalhout, who plans on consuming the planet and all who reside in it.
Murakumo and Unit 13 reprise their mission in 2021: To hunt down all dragons.
Reception[]
7th Dragon 2020-II sold nearly 74,000 copies in its first week. Unfortunately, that’s a lower debut than its predecessor, 7th Dragon 2020, which was released in November 2011 and sold 122,498 copies at launch. Furthermore, sales of 2020-II were even lower than those of the original 7th Dragon game on Nintendo DS. That game sold nearly 80,000 copies in its first week.1.
