Natural-born warriors, using their finely honed bodies to manipulate gigantic weapons with the sole purpose of fighting the enemy. Their job is to overwhelm with brute force.
Fighters are all-around good damage dealers and have the 2nd highest defense of all classes. Fighters pair often with Mages and Bow Rogues for massive damage. They can also cure status ailments on themselves and recover some status effects, and they possess unique skills such as Meat Eater (ミートイーター), Genocide Task (ジェノサイドタスク) and Double Attack (ダブルアタック).
Sword Fighters deal great Slashing damage and have lots of useful skills in battle. Notable skills include Attack Kill (アタックキル), which lowers ATK to an enemy, and Element Follower (エレメントフォロア), which "follows" a Mage spell and attacks the target using the same element. Sword Fighters are the only class that can use physical full-party attacks without any prerequisites (Knights must have a dead party member to do full party attacks and Iai Samurai must use up an EX), so they are pretty good at clearing mobs.
Axe Fighters deals Blunt damage and hit harder than swords, but as a compromise they are much slower than Sword Fighters and other classes. Notable skills include Balance Kill (バランスキル), which lowers resistance of status effects to an enemy; Purge (パージ), which does massive damage and instant death under a certain percentage; and Arrow Follower (アローフォロア), which "follows" a Bow Rogue's attack to deal massive damage. Axe Fighters EX skill, Tidal Wave (タイダルウェイブ) has a chance of inflict skill-seal, which is very useful.
Strategy[]
Double Attack is a useful passive to have during random encounters but not necessary since you have to spend 5 SP at the opposite mastery skill. If you do not run a Healer or a Mage in your party, you can pick up Berserk (ベルセルク) or Endorphin (エンドルフィン) to cure status ailments.
Sword Fighters' main attack is Attack Kill for bosses and dragons. Pick Element Follower if you have a Mage or Fang Blade (ファングブレード) if you do not. Element Follower requires Defense Switch (デフェンシブスイッチ) and Fang Blade requires Offensive Switch (オフェンシブスイッチ). Max Sword Mastery (ソードマスタリー) for high damage boost and pick up Rush Edge (ラッシュエッジ) for random encounters. If you want, you can level up Keen Edge (キーンエッジ) for a quick and cheap damage skill, but Fang Blade already serves the same purpose with higher damage and MANA cost.
Axe Fighters' main attack is Purge (or Power Crash (パワークラッシュ), though Purge is more recommended). Pick up Arrow Follower if you have a Bow Rogue, Balance Kill if your party relies on status ailments or Defend Kill (ディフェンドキル) if you do not rely on any of those. Arrow Follower requires Offensive Switch. Max Axe Mastery (アクスマスタリー) for the damage boost and pick up the EX skill Tidal Wave which has a high chance to inflict Skill Seal. You can take Shield Axe (シールドアクス) or Stun Bash (スタンバッシュ) if you want, but Shield Axe requires Defense Switch so it is not necessary if you are lacking SP, though this will increase drastically your survival rate at max. Stun Bash has a high chance to Stun (which makes your enemy go last) but Axe Fighters are pretty slow, so the Stun effect is often not very effective.

Attacks simultaneously with any ally's attack spell with elemental damage of the same type. Only usable in Defensive Switch.
The damage bonus is 130% at Lv. 1 and 165% at Lv. 10. Also, an extra 30% of the damage done will be done by the magic that activated this skill. The elemental of this attack is the same as the one used to activate this skill, and non-elemental magic (Mana Bullet, Heaven's Press) will also activate it.
Full party spells and items will also make this attack every enemy as well.
This will not activate on any physical attack with elemental damage, or any Veil's counter spells.
This will activate as many times in a single round as there are spells or items that fire it off.
Element Follower is based on the Fighter's ATK, as opposed to their MATK.
This won't activate on spells or items that miss their target, but the hit rate of this attack is very good (it won't miss even when the Fighter's stuck with Blind).
Items seem to hit more often than casting spells, so if the enemy is good at evading or if your party is inflicted with Blind, then you might want to use those items instead.
Grand Buster (グランドバスター)

-50% damage taken from an attack, with around a 33% chance of nullifying it completely at Lv. 1. At Lv. 10, the damage reduction goes to -72%, and the damage nullification effect goes off around 50% of the time. Works against both physical and magic attacks.
Arrow Follower (アローフォロア)
3 (Lv. 1~5) 4 (Lv. 6~10)*
1 (Lv. 1~7) 2 (Lv. 8~10)
10
Axe Mastery Lv. 5 Offensive Switch Lv. 3
Attacks simultaneously with any ally when he uses any bow attack, doing large damage. Only usable in Offensive Switch.
130% damage at Lv. 1 and 165% damage at Lv. 10. The Fighter will also do 30% of the damage the bow attack did on top of that. This probably does blunt damage.
Using EX on the turn a Rogue's Falling Star goes off, then using a regular Bow attack on the same turn will allow this to fire twice in one turn.
With Dual Shot, this will only activate once. With a React Bow Rogue, this won't go off during extra turns unless the Fighter has an extra turn as well.
This will ignore counters.
*(The MN cost displayed in-game is miswritten)
Purge (パージ)
5 (Lv. 1~5) 6 (Lv. 6~10)
1 (Lv. 1~7) 2 (Lv. 8~10)

Axe Mastery Lv. 8
Large damage to a single enemy, inflicts instant death without fail if target is below a certain percentage of its Max LF.
130% damage at Lv. 1 and instantly kills enemies with a LF less than a base 15% of their max LF. At Lv. 10, the damage increases to 180% damage, and the base LF threshold is 45% for the instant death effect.
It appears as though the LF threshold for instant death effect depends both on the target's remaining LF and the difference in level between the Fighter and your target.
This skill is incredibly slow.
