Nagare (ナガレ) is a supporting character who first appeared in 7th Dragon 2020, a former Murakumo Unit 10 operative under Gatou's command.
History[]
Before becoming part of Murakumo, Nagare was once a mercenary who teamed up with Gatou and Himuro to foil a hijacking incident back in 2013. They were later invited to join the organization's operative division called Unit 10. Nagare and Gatou accepted.
7th Dragon 2020[]
In 2020, Nagare was one of the evaluators for the 75th Induction Exam held inside the Metropolitan Government Building. He called for backup after running into a large monster while doing his rounds on the fourth floor, and Gatou took a handful of the examinees with him. The trio successfully took it down. Following said monster's defeat, Nagare accompanied Gatou to check on the other floors of the building and would not be seen again until after the dragon invasion. He was among the on-site Murakumo operatives who escaped and would eventually return to the building a month after it was taken over by the Emperor Dragon Warcry.
Nagare's last battle.
Gato and Nagare later confronted the Emperor Dragon on the reversed rooftop. Though they were able to wear down it down somewhat, Warcry eventually proved too much for the two men. Gatou was severely injured and Nagare lost his life. The induction exam passers (now known as Unit 13) took over from them, dealing the finishing blow on Warcry to liberate the Metropolitan Building, avenging their fallen comrade in the process.
Nagare's wife Miki, who appears in both games.
Nagare is survived by his wife Miki, who was among the civilian evacuees. She will later teach Unit 13 the support skill Stealth Level 1, which she learned from her late husband.
Miki also survives the second invasion and has been looking after two orphans who lost their parents at the time. Miki later decides to adopt them. Though she tells Unit 13 that she has always been prepared for the time that her husband might not return, one of the adopted children sometimes sees her crying in their quarters at night.
