Natsume Hikasa (日暈棗, hikasa natsume) is a supporting character who appeared in 7th Dragon 2020, the chairperson of the monster extermination group Murakumo.
Personality & Character[]
On the surface, Natsume exudes an air of professionalism and maturity as befitting a person of her position. She has dedicated her life to practical application of genetic engineering, recruitment and nurturing of individuals with S-Class potential, and later dragon physiology research.
Very few know however, that all of Natsume's efforts are for but a singular purpose: To find a way to enhance her own abilities, which are just A-Class. Her complex over her perceived shortcomings also make her particularly insensitive, openly holding talented people in high regard while relegating ordinary people to a lower status as expendable tools. This tendency worsened upon discovery of the Dragon Chronicle augmentation method.
She lost the last remaining vestiges of her humanity after turning into the Human-Hybrid Dragon Mizuchi, becoming consumed with the outlook of "might makes right".

Etymology[]
Natsume's human-dragon hybrid form called "Mizuchi" comes from a similarly-named serpent dragon, which is also regarded as a water deity in Japanese folklore.
