Her trademark items are her glasses and the lollipop that she always has in her mouth. Her upbeat and frank personality has earned her quite a bit of a following. Has once harbored feelings of affection for Takehaya, but later came to accept that it would never be reciprocated following the latter's disappearance when the first dragon war ended in 2020. Character Description, 7th Dragon 2020 & 2020-II Visual Collection.

Prior to 2020, Neko was an orphan who grew up with Daigo and Takehaya. They were taken in by Natsume Hikasa and had been put through various experiments, resulting in them receiving powers similar to Unit 13 (2020). They eventually escaped Murakumo and hated the organization since then. They create their own Dragon hunting group called SKY, and become rivals to Unit 13 later on.

7th Dragon 2020[]

Neko first appears at the Metropolitan Government Building where she and Daigo save Unit 13 from the Dragon Warcry. She appears once more at Shibuya as an enemy, alongside Daigo and Takehaya. They treat Unit 13 with hostility and challenge the group to a fight to prove that they are true hunters. After Natsume's disappearance, they and SKY's refugees are given shelter at Tokyo City Hall, becoming allies to Unit 13. In chapter 5, Neko is present in the Navigator control room, watching the live footage of the Tokyo Tower Mizuchi slaughter, to which she expresses shock at the number of dead bodies of the citizens and soldiers that were killed. Later in-game, it is revealed that Neko was Councilman Ariake's biological daughter, but she vehemently denies it at first saying that she was sold by her parents and SKY is her only family.

She eventually learns that she was not sold off but actually kidnapped. She later slowly tries to open up to her father.

7th Dragon 2020-II[]

A year after the dragon war, Neko returned to Shibuya along with the other members of SKY. She is one of the first people to send out a quest asking for medical supplies to treat one of their own.

When Formalhout revives Sleepy Hollow, Neko accompanies Daigo in setting up the devices to nullify the mental effects of the dragon spores.

She later reluctantly takes on the mantle of SKY's leadership following Daigo's apparent demise. With SKY having to stay in the Diet Building, Neko will have several more run-ins with her father, Councilman Ariake, even involving Unit 13 in a quest to serve as messengers when the two get into a big argument.

When Daigo was found alive and successfully rescued, Neko is party to the brawl quest with Unit 13. Following that fight, she will send them boxed lunch and an invitation to the lounge. For some reason, the equipment she grants the team is a special megaphone and a stage costume with a cat tail that is meant for the Idol class. Her new contact details were also given of course.

Trivia[]

  • Her nickname, "Neko", translates to "cat" in Japanese. Adding onto this, Neko's parka has cat ears, further cementing the name association.
    • It is later revealed that despite her feline association, Neko hates fish.
  • In SKY, Neko considers Takehaya as her "father" and Daigo as her "mother".
  • She owns a pendant given to her by Takehaya.
  • Her father, Mr. Ariake, said that she resembles her deceased mother.
  • In 2020, after doing all of quests related to her she will give you the Nyan Claw (にゃんクロウ) and Nyan Parka (にゃんパーカー), equipments for the Psychic class, telling Unit 13 that it is the very equipment that she uses in battle.
  • Neko is of the Psychic class, and can coordinate her magical attacks with Daigo's physical skills and Takehaya's sword combos for more damage.
  • In Nyadens Crisis, the logo features a cat that resembles Neko's coat. This could be a reference towards her
  • In Code: VFD, a guy named Shu talks about SKY and mentions a woman named "Kat" who was the second head of SKY next to Takehaya. It is unknown if he is talking about Neko or not, but this could imply that she is rather dead or very old by Code: VFD if so, as Shu also states that most of SKY has gotten old or passed away from old age.
