The Phantom Capital (旧国府・幻影首都, kyukokufu genei toushi) is a hidden dungeon in 7th Dragon 2020 and 7th Dragon 2020-II.

Gameplay

Post-Chapter X (2020)

The Phantom Capital becomes available after clearing Chapter X. Upon loading the clear file and exiting the Metropolitan Government Building, the Phantom Capital will emerge on the upper-left corner of the map. Unit 13 will find themselves in an illusory space with the same appearance as the exterior of their home base. Aytel and Emel meet them at the entrance, telling them that this area is where the crossroads of time intertwine. If they so choose, Unit 13 can learn about the long history of Dragons by venturing inside. However, they need to prove themselves worthy of being Dragon Hunters, and the proof comes in the form of 20 Dz.

The inside of the Phantom Capital is composed of reflections of city locations throughout the game with the mapping status completely similar to the original spot. After the Government Building entrance hall where the party can talk to the specters of fallen comrades, subsequent floors will be composed of one dungeon area and a boss floor with a powered-up incarnation of an Emperor Dragon. Before every boss battle, Aytel or Emel will be waiting near the access portal. If Unit 13 talks to them, they will reveal some details about the history of the Dragons, the Hypnos, as well as the legend of "Humanity's Warrior".

Both random and symbol encounters will feature only Dragons. The ones randomly enountered are notably weaker compared to the symbol ones and usually have only one action per turn.

Since they are merely solid apparitions, they will not drop Dz. Instead, the spoils are high-level medicine and SP increase items.

• In 2020, the Barricade Dragon D-Class blocking the path to Takehaya's lair is the only symbol dragon that respawns in this dungeon, as well as the whole game.
