Samurai (サムライ) is a reoccuring class in the 7th Dragon series. In 2020 and onward, Samurai takes a modern twist compared to its predecessor. They are considered the all-rounders among all classes.
Samurai are high damage dealers and have the second highest DEF after Destroyer. They wield katanas and have two styles of skills: Batto and Iai. Batto deals average damage and cost little MANA while Iai focuses on high damage on single-target enemies with more expensive MANA. They can also self-heal and self-buff themselves.
The Samurai will always start off the battle in the Battou Stance, but will be switched to Iai if equipped with the Iai Code acessory.

Flying Slash is identical to Diagonal Slash (袈裟斬り) in 2020 with some changes.

Maple Assault (モミジ討ち)
[Iai Stance Skill] Hits one enemy with melee ATK-based fire damage and has a chance to cause Burn (Multiplies damage dealt by 0.9x, and multiplies damage taken by 1.05x) for 4 turns.
The effect will not be used up until the Samurai attacks. Support skills will not waste the charge. The damage and infliction effects are classified as separate buffs. Meaning that if the next attack is not capable of inflicting an ailment, the infliction rate charge will not be used up. Can be used on their EX skill, Sakura Cyclone.
Woodwind Duet (風林重ね)
[Iai Stance Skill] At the start of the turn, the Samurai prepares to attack. Any enemy that gets attacked with a Fire, Ice, Lightning, or Aerial spell from a Psychic (or Idol Aerial spell in 2020-II) will receive a follow-up attack that deals melee ATK-based damage.

Samurai (侍) were the military nobility and officer caste of medieval and early-modern Japan.

The appearance commonly attached to the Samurai class is referred to as the "Student Style".
In promotional items and goods, the male student is named Kirimaru, while the female is Touko.
In the 7th Dragon 2020 and 7th Dragon 2020-II Visual Collection's manga, the Student Style Female Samurai is named Tsubaki Kujou (九条ツバキ, kujou tsubaki,Tsubaki Kujou) and has an elder sister named Sakura. Tsubaki was depicted as a good student and a strong kendo paractitioner, but when the Dragon invasion started, her elder sister was swallowed up by a D-Class. This left Tsubaki frustrated and resolved to become even stronger to stand against them.
