Tokyo Sky Tower (東京スカイタワー,tokyo sukai tawa?) is the first and last dungeon in 7th Dragon 2020-II.

History[]

The place where the final confrontation against True Dragon Formalhout took place during the Dragon disaster in 2021. The whole structure is teeming with Black Dragonsbane, but unlike most areas conquered by Emperor Dragons, The Sky Tower's original form remained largely intact. However, beyond the 450-meter observatory hall is Formalhout's symbol that serves as a portal to the "True Dragon Territory" which was a completely different dimension. The area served as a makeshift "Bridge to the Heavens" using reproduced parts of the Sky Tower.
Location Description, 7th Dragon 2020 & 2020-II Visual Collection.

Prologue[]

As the Tokyo Tower was deformed beyond immediate restoration, the capital needed a new telecommunication network hub in the process of recovery from the prior dragon invasion. Tokyo Sky Tower was chosen for this, and several engineers were comissioned for the network infrastructure rehabilitation project.

Said project was headed by the acting Murakumo chairman Ayafumi Kirino, who would rather work on this full-time than suffer through long, drawn-out cabinet meetings in the Diet. Waji of the Factory Division was also among the engineers overseeing the tower's setup.

Though Dragons were now extinct thanks to the efforts of Unit 13, monsters still run rampant, so the SDF served as escort detail for the engineers. The day before the planned test broadcast, a number of strong monsters attacked, overwhelming the SDF. Unit 13 was called to assist. Despite being a little rusty from the over 35-day blank, they were still able to drive the monsters out of the tower, and the broadcast was to be performed as scheduled.

On the day itself however, dragons suddenly reemerged, led by the True Dragon Formalhout. Making their way to the top of the tower, Unit 13 confronts Formalhout, but the True Dragon proved too much for them. They barely made it out alive thanks to SECT 11 leader Shouji Sakuraba and his sister Izumi.

Kirino and the engineers were also able to escape, though not without incident: a new species of highly-toxic Dragonsbane born from Formalhout's influence left many of them incapacitated, including the Murakumo chairman himself.

Formalhout then made the Tokyo Sky Tower his personal stronghold, surrounding it with the Black Dragonsbane as well as an energy barrier.
